One year ago, I took office amid two wars, an economy rocked by a severe
recession, a financial system on the verge of collapse, and a government deeply
in debt.
American troops started withdrawing from Iraq despite resurgent violence.
American surge in Afghanistan is insufficient, and Taliban posed to retake
power.
It was speculative rather than financial system which was about to collapse, and
the government made taxpayers to bail out their institutional oppressors. The
government debt skyrocketed.

One in 10 Americans still cannot find work.
The government must deport illegal labor migrants, cut down welfare benefits to
force spongers to take jobs, and abandon the minimum wage to create many more
unskilled jobs.

This recession has also compounded the burdens that America's families have been
dealing with for decades - the burden of working harder and longer for less; of
being unable to save enough to retire or help kids with college.
Short of statistical tricks, no one can imagine that Americans today are less
affluent than decades ago. Everything from cars and home appliances to health
care and universities became better. Lower savings rate reflect high consumer
confidence rather than hardships because people are certain they can find a
job.

And if we had allowed the meltdown of the financial system, unemployment might
be double what it is today.
Would not have been a bad deal. Say, 15 million more unemployed for three years
instead of something like two trillion dollars which the Obama bailout would
cost, including interest. That's about $40,000 per worker per annum. Even with
the most far-fetched assumptions about unemployment, the bailout was too
expensive, let alone unjust.

More homes would have surely been lost.
True, but mortgages would have went down, and many young or poor families would
be able to afford their houses.

To recover the rest [of bailout money], I've proposed a fee on the biggest
banks.
Great. So the stable banks would subsidize speculative banks. An appropriate fee
is already levied on banks through FDIC insurance. Now, as the government had
effectively bailed out the FDIC, it seeks a parallel insurance scheme, which
would go the same path.

We also took steps to get our economy growing again, save as many jobs as
possible, and help Americans who had become unemployed.
Those are mutually exclusive objectives. Assistance to unemployed beyond a bare
minimum reduces economic growth and reduces job market.

We extended or increased unemployment benefits for more than 18 million
Americans.
Why increase unemployment benefits during a crisis when people must be glad they
are receiving any support at all?

We cut taxes for 95 percent of working families.
Obama did not say that the cuts were minuscule.

Millions of Americans had more to spend on gas.
The administration had no guts to push its clients - Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi
Arabia - to abandon the oil cartel which costs American hundreds of billions
dollars.

Because of the steps we took, there are about two million Americans working
right now who would otherwise be unemployed.
No one can calculate that number with any certainty.

Two hundred thousand work in construction and clean energy; 300,000 are teachers
and other education workers. Tens of thousands are cops, firefighters,
correctional officers, first responders.
Obama contradicts himself: the alleged two million jobs are either saved in the
private sector or, as he says here, were added in the public sector. Such
policies are socialist rather than Keynesian. Keynes advocated temporary
increase in public spending during crises, but increased hiring enlarges state
sector in perpetuity. No one is going to lay off the police offers or teachers
once the crisis is off.

Talk to the window manufacturer in Philadelphia who said he used to be skeptical
about the Recovery Act, until he had to add two more work shifts just because of
the business it created.
Can we get a phone number, please?

I'm proposing that we take $30 billion of the money Wall Street banks have
repaid and use it to help community banks give small businesses the credit they
need to stay afloat.
Community banks are generally more conservative than large banks. Why would they
start financing small businesses when large banks see that as too risky? Obama
will have to resort to government guarantees, thus effectively distribute $30
billion as grants to minority businesses.

I'm also proposing a new small business tax credit-– one that will go to over
one million small businesses who hire new workers or raise wages.
The last thing you need to do during a crisis is to raise wages. The objectives
of hiring more workers and increasing wages are contradictory.

Let's also eliminate all capital gains taxes on small business investment.
The government is going to discriminate against businesses based on their size.
That's a trademark socialist policy of tolerating small manufacturers, but not
"exploitative" big corporations.

I'll visit Tampa, Florida, where workers will soon break ground on a new
high-speed railroad funded by the Recovery Act.
If the railroad were feasible it would have no shortage of private investment.
Revenues from high-speed railroads do not come from nowhere but are chipped away
from airlines and car manufacturers.

We should put more Americans to work building clean energy facilities.
That means American goods will be more expensive than those manufactured in less
eco-friendly countries.

And to encourage these and other businesses to stay within our borders, it is
time to finally slash the tax breaks for companies that ship our jobs overseas.
If the administration pushes clean energy, the remaining business would flee en
masse. In the corporate legal structure, it is impossible to ascertain whether
the jobs were "shipped overseas" or outsourced. Tax breaks make too small
difference for the companies to suffer Obama's clean energy regulation and pay
higher wages in America than in China.

These steps won't make up for the seven million jobs that we've lost over the
last two years.
So why the increased benefits to 18 million unemployed? Out of the 7 million,
most have found new jobs, so the fallout from the crisis is perhaps two to three
million jobs. A two-trillion-dollar bailout seems like too much to prevent
doubling that figure.

We can't afford another so-called economic "expansion" like the one from the
last decade... where the income of the average American household declined...
where prosperity was built on a housing bubble and financial speculation.
Why, then, Obama supports that housing bubble instead of allowing it to burst?
If the bubble is that bad - as indeed it is - then by all means allow the
irresponsible homeowners to default, and bring housing prices down. Looking at
the number of new cars and houses in that decade, it is hard to believe that
incomes have declined then.

Germany is not waiting [to revamp its economy].
Germany would be a very bad example for the United States. Its economy is
crippled by trade unions, government regulation, welfare, - and is only
supported by hordes of immigrant workers. German economy quickly loses its
engineering age as younger generation opts for fashionable MBA specialities.

[China and India are] making serious investments in clean energy because they
want those jobs.
Not in my universe.

We can't allow financial institutions, including those that take your deposits,
to take risks that threaten the whole economy.
Regulation won't achieve that end. Financial institutions have long proved
their ability to outsmart governments. The only solution is to set up separate
currencies licensed for real markets and speculation, respectively. This way,
real economy will be largely insulated from financial gambling.

But to create more of these clean energy jobs, we need... building a new
generation of safe, clean nuclear power plants in this country. It means making
tough decisions about opening new offshore areas for oil and gas development.
Offshore oil development is the opposite of clean energy.

It means passing a comprehensive energy and climate bill with incentives that
will finally make clean energy the profitable kind of energy in America.
Clean energy, in Obama's weasel words, can only become profitable if the
government subsidizes it and institutes punitive taxation of traditional energy
producers.

I know that there are those who disagree with the overwhelming scientific
evidence on climate change.
Like the evidence forged by East Anglia University.

Third, we need to export more of our goods. Because the more products we make
and sell to other countries, the more jobs we support right here in America.
In contemporary technological economy, added value is concentrated in R&D.
Manufacturing is outsourced to undeveloped countries precisely because it is not
a feasible occupation for citizens of developed countries.

We will double our exports over the next five years.
That recalls the Soviet five-year economic plans.

We're launching a National Export Initiative that will help farmers and small
businesses increase their exports, and reform export controls consistent with
national security.
American farmers are heavily subsidized, so increasing their exports means
increasing subsidies and constitutes a net loss to the economy. The part on
export controls is very suspicious: what kind of technology Obama seeks to
export without restrictions?

We have to seek new markets aggressively, just as our competitors are.
Obama the liberal embraced mercantilism and is willing to apply political
pressure in the interests of American corporations.

We will strengthen our trade relations in Asia and with key partners like South
Korea and Panama and Colombia.
Panama and Colombia are by no means America's important trading partners.

And let's tell another one million students that when they graduate, they will
be required to pay only 10 percent of their income on student loans, and all of
their debt will be forgiven after 20 years.
Students, accordingly, will be given a free pass for taking many of the
economically worthless courses in community colleges. They will be able to study
just for the fun thereof without prospects of employment, on public account.

But if anyone from either party has a better approach that will bring down
premiums [on healthcare], bring down the deficit, cover the uninsured,
strengthen Medicare for seniors, and stop insurance company abuses, let me
know.
Easy: end the AMA monopoly on licensing doctors, set limits on malpractice
suits, and allow insurance companies to sell coverage for less-than-ideal
treatment. Regulation drives costs (premiums) up rather than down. It is
completely implausible that government expenditures would become less while
coverage increases.

Starting in 2011, we are prepared to freeze government spending for three years.
(Applause.) Spending related to our national security, Medicare, Medicaid, and
Social Security will not be affected.
Those are the largest part of the budget.

We've already identified $20 billion in savings for next year.
On the background of the expected $8 trillion deficit over the ten years.

That's why North Korea now faces increased isolation, and stronger sanctions
–- sanctions that are being vigorously enforced. That's why the international
community is more united, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is more isolated.
This is important. Obama uses North Korea as a model for Iran. His idea is that
Iran gaining a nuclear bomb or two does not spell apocalypse. Ayatollahs won't
be able to sue their nuclear weapons, and in the meanwhile will face increasing
sanctions that would eventually force them to dismantle the weapons. That
strategy so far does not work with North Korea, which keeps its nuclear
stockpiles and export nuclear technology. Iran's case would be similar to
India and Pakistan's. International community cannot afford to isolate
politically and economically important countries, and will come to terms with
Iran's nuclear weapons.

The Wannsee Conference was a meeting of senior officials of the Nazi German regime, held in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee on 20 January 1942. Wannsee udpate from DW: On an interesting note, the Mufti had traveled to Germany at a very coincidental time. He traveled to German on Nov 20th, 1941 for meetings and then was received by Hitler on Nov. 28th, 1941. The Wannsee Conference (Final Solution) was scheduled for Dec. 9th, 1941….but that meeting was delayed because of the Japanese attack on the U.S./Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7th, 1941. The meeting was rescheduled for January 20th, 1942. The timing of his arrival at the end of November 1941 may have confirmed Nuremburg testimony that he was actually planning on attending the Dec. 9th original meeting. He may have held over and still attended the Jan. 20th, 1942 meeting….but in observation of the implementation of his plan (if it was his designed, which I believe it was). Further digging for his where abouts during this time are cloudy past about Dec. 19th, 1941….up until Jan. 28th, 1942. What I believe is further missed is that the whole 'Final Solution' was already written prior to the original 'intended' meeting on Dec. 9, 1941. The actual Wannsee meeting was just to 'roll the plan ALREADY in action to the players' to engage. By the time the Wannsee meeting took place on Jan 20th, 1942 the plan was already in full swing, as had started the beginning of January, 1942. Without recreating a timeline, here is a close and pretty accurate occurrence of events that I believe demonstrates the initiation of the Final Solution, prior to the Jan 20th, meeting… (more here) For the film, see The Wannsee Conference (film). Tell the children the truth says this (hat tip Hal) It has become painfully evident to me that the majority of Islamic terrorism which we are experiencing in the world today is because of the efforts of the Grand Mufti of Palestine, Haj Amin al Husseini, from 1940 with his personal involvement in the Armenian holocaust up to the time he died in 1974. The Muslim efforts in Bosnia, Chechnya, Yugoslavia and the Caucuses relate directly to his Nazi brigades there in the 1940's. The evil machinations of the Muslim brotherhood are a direct result of his mentoring. Yasser Arafat was his nephew and protege'. His personal brand of poison spread to Pakistan, Indonesia and the rest of the world. Over a half century of pain and suffering all due to one very evil man. What I cannot understand and probably never will understand, is why Sir Herbert Samuel, a British Jew, put that SOB in charge of Palestine when "The Muslim community rejected his candidacy because he had not received any credible Islamic education. Karachi, Pakistan. Amin Al Husseini shapes the ideology of the newly founded Muslim country. He is the President of the World Islamic congress. Amin Al Husseini influenced the Islamic world in Malaysia as President of World Islamic Congress in the last years of his life. The Grand Mufti was interested in the mass murder of Jews in the Middle East. He was a friend of Himmler's and established an office in a building where Himmler's top deputy worked day to day. He even wrote to Hitler himself, asking for material help in the effort (see the Mufti's letter to Hitler). He took a tour of Auschwitz and broadcast (from the Prinz-Albrecht-Palais) his desire to "kill all the Jews" daily on radio broadcasts. These broadcasts were sent to Italy and then the entire Middle East. He set the course for future generations of Muslims by murdering Jews in Yugoslavia and then using the pictures of dead Jews to claim Jews were killing Muslims. It makes sense that HE was the one in possession of the blueprints, as he expressed a desire to do in the Mid-East what the SS was doing in Europe. Why is the "Berlin flat" being hidden? It could be the same reason the Grand Mufti wasn't prosecuted after WWII: fear of a Muslim backlash. The leaders of the nazi state welcomed him on the highest levels, and provided him with comfortable accommodation in a huge building block of Klopstock Strasse, where a Zionist Jewish school used to operate until 1939. After all the former Jewish property was nationalized, Himmler established a "Jewish Institute" in the building, which was renamed "The research institute on the Jewish question in the muslim world" in honor of the arrival of Husseini. And with good reason: "The goals of my struggle are clear: First of all, I struggle ceaselessly against the Jews, and part of this struggle is the fight against the Jewish National Home in Palestine, because it is there that the Jews want to establish a central government for their evil purposes, to proceed with their destructive expansion at the expense of the governments and peoples of the world". This is the lengthy sentence that the mufti said to Hitler, when they met in his office two weeks after his arrival. He wrote down the exact date of this oh-so important meeting with his supreme paragon, the fuhrer: "the 1360th year of Hijra, Zul Qaada 6 on Friday afternoon, from half to 5 until 6." Hussein came to meet Hitler with promising prospects - and left him disappointed. The Fuhrer, although readily expressing support for the fight against the Jews, was cautious not to make promises to the Arabs. Here arises the question: how could Hitler, the confirmed the anti-Semite, negotiate with a representative of a semitic people? Both the Bible and the koran teaches that the Arabs are Abraham's children, or Semites. But while the Jews are descended from Isaac, the arabs come from Ishmael. The Nazi racial theory, however, was sufficiently elastic to be broadened narrowed or by the current political interests. Thus, the National Socialist Party's official - and Hitler's favorite - newspaper, the "National Observer" (Völkischer Beobachter) denied that the Arabs are racially pure Semites, as "they have been Aryanised by Circassian and Caucasian elements". In the paper, the proof of this was exactly the mufti of Jerusalem, whose red beard and blue eyes, "shows the dominance his mother's Circassian origin." But back to the negotiations: Hitler gave strategic reasons to explain his caution in the Middle East, and revealed some "secrets" to his interlocutor, that Hussein wrote down in his memoirs. First of all, Hitler promised - although it was not in the least a secret - that "he will continue to fight until the total destruction of judeo-bolshevism." In this fight, perhaps in the not too distant future, the German troops would reach the southern side of the Caucasus. This is the strategic condition for the Germans to be able to give effective support to the "freedom-loving Arab peoples' struggle for independence. "The road from Rostov to Iran and Irak is shorter than the road from Berlin to Rostov - said Hitler. Only when the German troops reach this strategic goal would Germany issue a statement. Although the strategic goals of the Nazis did not include the conquest of the Middle East, the Grand Mufti was useful for other plans. The guest and his entourage received the royal treatment: the Reich Ministry of Foreign Affairs appointed for him 10 thousand dollars a month, Himmler, the all-powerful leader of the SS gave him from the "Special Funds" (which in practice meant the nationalized Jewish property) sums to continue with his pro-Nazi and anti-Semitic propaganda campaign in the Arab countries. In 1942, after the battle of El Alamein, which was the first effective Allied blow to the German forces in North Africa, Hussein broadcast from Berlin to the Arab world leaders to support Hitler's struggle against "world Zionism". The speech began thus: "Arise, children of Arabia! Fight for your holy rights!. Kill the Jews wherever you find them!. Shedding their blood is pleasing to Allah, our history and religion. Thus is our honor kept." The war criminal But that's not all. According to one of the Nuremberg defendants, Wisliceny, who was the right hand of Adolf Eichmann, and was involved in the "de-judaization" of Europe, "Hussein was a personal friend of my boss" - even though Eichmann denied this in his 1961 trial in Jerusalem, and so did Hussein in his memoirs. Although the internationally renowned specialist of the issue, Bernard Lewis in his 1986 book is also skeptical of the Eichmann connection, the fact is that Eichmann was in Jerusalem at the time of the 1937 rebellion against the English, and was only granted authorization for a 48-hour stay, he nevertheless managed to meet with the mufti, and later in Berlin, they met often in the office of Eichmann on Kurfürststrasse 116. The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem dreamed of a glorious parade at the end of the war ,and prepared plans for an Auschwitz-type extermination camp which would have been set up near Nablus for the Jews in Palestine. The Grand Mufti in every way tried to make herself useful for his hosts. With Himmler's support he established an Islamic Academy in Dresden. When you went on vacation, the valet took your car. Now it's $19.95 to park your rental car at the hotel. Are these industries gouging the customer? No. They are trying to stay in business. So are the rockets being designed to take them there — that is, if President Barack Obama gets his way. When the White House releases his budget proposal Monday, there will be no money for the Constellation program that was supposed to return humans to the moon by 2020. The troubled and expensive Ares I rocket that was to replace the space shuttle to ferry humans to space will be gone, along with money for its bigger brother, the Ares V cargo rocket that was to launch the fuel and supplies needed to take humans back to the moon. There will be no lunar landers, no moon bases, no Constellation program at all. In their place, according to White House insiders, agency officials, industry executives and congressional sources familiar with Obama's long-awaited plans for the space agency, NASA will look at developing a new "heavy-lift" rocket that one day will take humans and robots to explore beyond low Earth orbit. But that day will be years — possibly even a decade or more — away. In the meantime, the White House will direct NASA to concentrate on Earth-science projects — principally, researching and monitoring climate change — and on a new technology research and development program that will one day make human exploration of asteroids and the inner solar system possible. There will also be funding for private companies to develop capsules and rockets that can be used as space taxis to take astronauts on fixed-price contracts to and from the International Space Station — a major change in the way the agency has done business for the past 50 years. The White House budget request, which is certain to meet fierce resistance in Congress, scraps the Bush administration's Vision for Space Exploration and signals a major reorientation of NASA, especially in the area of human spaceflight. "We certainly don't need to go back to the moon," said one administration official. Everyone interviewed for this article spoke on condition of anonymity, either because they are not authorized to talk for the White House or because they fear for their jobs. All are familiar with the broad sweep of Obama's budget proposal, but none would talk about specific numbers because these are being tightly held by the White House until the release of the budget. But senior administration officials say the spending freeze for some federal agencies is not going to apply to the space agency in this budget proposal. Officials said NASA was expected to see some "modest" increase in its current $18.7 billion annual budget — possibly $200 million to $300 million more but far less than the $1 billion boost agency officials had hoped for. They also said that the White House plans to extend the life of the International Space Station to at least 2020. One insider said there would be an "attractive sum" of money — to be spent over several years — for private companies to make rockets to carry astronauts there. But Obama's budget freeze is likely to hamstring NASA in coming years as the spending clampdown will eventually shackle the agency and its ambitions. And this year's funding request to develop both commercial rockets and a new NASA spaceship will be less than what was recommended by a White House panel of experts last year. That panel, led by former Lockheed Martin CEO Norm Augustine, concluded that to have a "viable" human space-exploration program, NASA needed a $3 billion annual budget hike, and that it would take as much as $5 billion distributed over five years to develop commercial rockets that could carry astronauts safely to and from the space station. Last year, lawmakers prohibited NASA from canceling any Constellation programs and starting new ones in their place unless the cuts were approved by Congress. The provision sends a "direct message that the Congress believes Constellation is, and should remain, the future of America's human space flight program," wrote U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., last month. Nevertheless, NASA contractors have been quietly planning on the end of Ares I, which is years behind schedule and millions of dollars over budget. NASA has already spent more than $3 billion on Ares I and more than $5 billion on the rest of Constellation. In recent days, NASA has been soliciting concepts for a new heavy-lift rocket from major contractors, including Boeing Co., Lockheed Martin Corp. and Pratt & Whitney. Last week, a group of moonlighting NASA engineers and rocket hobbyists proposed variations on old agency designs that use the shuttle's main engines and fuel tank to launch a capsule into space. According to officials and industry executives familiar with the presentations, some of the contractor designs are very similar to the one pressed by the hobbyists. Officially, companies such as Boeing still support Constellation and its millions of dollars of contracts. Some believe that in a battle with Congress, Ares may survive. "I would not say Ares is dead yet," said an executive with one major NASA contractor. "It's probably more accurate to say it's on life support. We have to wait to see how the coming battle ends." Few doubt that a fight is looming. In order to finance new science and technology programs and find money for commercial rockets, Obama will be killing off programs that have created jobs in some powerful constituencies, including the Marshall Space Flight Center in Shelby's Alabama. But the White House is said to be ready for a fight. The end of the shuttle program this year is already going to slash 7,000 jobs at Kennedy Space Center. One administration official said the budget will send a message that it's time members of Congress recognize that NASA can't design space programs to create jobs in their districts. They have achieved absolute intellectual dominance. Everything you read or see about Islam from the media or government or public school or university comes from them (CAIR, MAS, ICNA, ISNA etc.)  The Muslim Brotherhood should be rebuked much the way the Nazi party was rebuked during WWII. Same war, different century. Sultan has the dirt on the dirty who voted dirty: Hamas' 54 Democratic Congressmen Keith Ellison, widely hailed as America's first Muslim congressman, could more accurately be described as CAIR and Hamas' man in Congress. Congressman Ellison has been a regular presence at CAIR fundraisers and at pro-Hamas rallies in the United States. As a former member of Farrakhan's Nation of Islam, Ellison has enough anti-semitic and Islamist credentials to satisfy anyone, and had expressed openly anti-semitic beliefs in the past. [...] The entire "Free Gaza" movement is a Hamas propaganda project that allows it to demand that Israel open its borders, without actually using the P word, for peace, since Hamas doesn't even believe in phony peace negotiations. So Pro-Hamas activists, whether it's former Saddam supporter, George Galloway's Viva Palestina or their American flavors talk only about "The People of Gaza", deemphasize Hamas and emphasize the supposed "suffering" within Gaza. They are this century's nazis. Atlas covered them here and here and here. But the call for Israel to open its borders is nothing more than a way of making it easier for terrorists to strike. Ellison's letter buries its real agenda in paragraphs of prose about how everyone will be better off, except somehow Hamas, if Israel complies with their demand... that Israel ease the movement of people in and out of Gaza. This of course is a fancy way of saying, "Let my Suicide Bombers go". None of this is up till now is shocking. But what Congressman Keith Ellison accomplished was to convince 53 other Democratic congressmen to join him in this venture. It is not particularly surprising to find the House's most radical anti-Israel voices signing their names onto Ellison's letter. It would be inconceivable if a letter aiding Hamas did not carry the signatures of Barbara Lee, Jim Moran or Jim McDermott, who helped Ellison spearhead the whole campaign. It is essentially inconceivable that any letter circulated in congress opposing Israel would not get their signature. Jim Moran had managed to blame even the Iraq War on the Jews and McDermott was actually named CAIR's Public Official of the Year. Neither is West Virginia Arab Congressman, Nick Rahall, who is the Democratic party's version of Darrel Issa, who is tied to CAIR as well, and previously voted against Israel's right to defend itself. Rahall is also the top recipient of CAIR donations. The likes of Diane Watson or Pete Stark aren't complete surprises either. Pete Stark has a history of being both anti-Israel and unstable. Neither is Carolyn Kilpatrick, who voted against Israel's right to defend itself, and against condemning terrorist attacks on Israel. Kilpatrick, like virtually every Democrat on the list, is also tied to CAIR. Then there's William Delahunt, who all but openly expressed the hope that a former Cheney aide would be targeted by Al Queda. John Conyers signing on to this while awaiting prison is no real shocker either. The man has all but endorsed Sharia law in America. Or John Dingell who like many Detroit politicians has gone whole hog with the Islamist Follow Traveler thing. Congresswoman Betty McCollum has been waging her own private war on Israel, right down to issuing an imperial demand that Israeli Ambassador Oren attend the national conference of the far left anti-Israel group, J Street. McCollum famously belittled Hamas' shelling of Israel as nothing more than a drug gang's drive by shooting and repeated the discredited white phosphorous smear. Again, no more surprising than Chaka Fattah's presence on the list. Then there's Eric Massa, a former Republican turned turncoat Democrat, Massa has been consistently loudly anti-war and to the left. Like virtually every congressman on this list, he's pushed for a phony ceasefire, that would naturally be one sided. Considering his increasingly unhinged radicalism, and that he has an election coming up soon, Massa must be pretty confident that the nutroots can get him reelected. It is of course no surprise that this list weighs heavily toward Minnesota and Michigan, where CAIR is strong. But it also includes twelve congressmen from California, 3 from New Jersey, 4 from New York and 6 from Massachusetts. These numbers are not mere statistics, they define the rising influence of the Muslim Brotherhood on American politics, state by state. And it is instructive to note how many of the congressmen and congresswomen on the list are funded by CAIR money. Keith Ellison, John Conyers, Loretta Sanchez, Betty McCollum, Lois Capps, Bill Pascrell, Elijah Cummings, Bob Filner, Mike Honda, Barbara Lee, John Dingell, James Moran, Nick Rahall, Andre Carson, Mary Jo Kilroy, Carolyn Kilpatrick and Jim McDermott are among the top receivers of CAIR money in congress. Of the top 11 CAIR moneygetters in congress, Nick Rahall, James Moran, Darrel Issa, John Conyers, Dennis Kucinich, Jesse Jackson, Jr, John Dingell, Barbara Lee, Carolyn Kilpatrick, Shelia Jackson Lee and Jim McDerrmott-- 7 out of 11 signed on to Ellison's letter. That makes the Gaza letter a CAIR project. 5 on that list voted against condemning attacks on Israel. And the letter is simply an opening shot as part of a broader campaign by the Muslim Brotherhood and its American proxies to attack Israel and promote its own Hamas wing. Its proxies can't openly come out for Hamas, not in the United States anyway. Not from members of congress. But they can work toward a common goal. With this letter, Hamas's masters in the Muslim Brotherhood demonstrated that they can use CAIR to gather 54 congressmen together to push its agenda. That is quite a leap for an organization that is the unindicted co-conspirator in funding Hamas terror. I am fairly certain, however, that he lived at Goethe Strasse 27 and had his "Islamic Central Institute" at the Prinz-Albrecht-Palais. We do not want to interfere with the privacy of the people who now live at Goethe Strasse 27, but I have found more evidence that this IS where the Mufti lived. This is the correct map. Bunch  found another reference that the Mufti lived in "Zehlendorf," and Goethestrasse 27 is in Zehlendorf, a suburb of Berlin.  Here's the part in German that explicitly states the Mufti's address, which I highlighted and used a huge font-- 1941 Gründung des Islamischen Zentral-Instituts zu Berlin e.V. , (jetzt: Zentralinstituts Islam-Archiv-Deutschland e.V. An exhibition displaying the original Auschwitz blueprints was unveiled yesterday in a moving ceremony at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Israel. Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu, Rabbi Israel Meir Lau and BILD editor in chief Kai Diekmann opened the exhibition containing the concentration camp plans, which BILD unearthed two years ago. Architecture of Murder Yesterday, the weather fit the occasion. Ice cold rain lashed Mount Zion in Jerusalem, ceder trees bent in the storm and dark clouds gathered over the Holocaust memorial site Yad Vashem during the emotional opening ceremony. Inside the pavilion the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opened the 'Architecture of Murder' exhibition made up of the original blueprints of the concentration camp in Auschwitz – a gift from BILD to the memorial site and to the Jewish people. The prime minister thanked BILD editor in chief Kai Diekmann for the blueprints, in the presence of ministers, Holocaust survivors, diplomats from over 60 countries, rabbis and Jerusalem's Mayor Nir Barkat. In his speech Netanyahu called the blueprints an important contribution to the proof of the Holocaust. He said: "This is an opportunity to express a basic truth." At the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz (27 January 1945), Avner Shalev, President of Yad Vashem, said that it should be a duty for future generations to preserve the memory of the mass murder carried out by Nazis in Auschwitz and other concentration camps to ensure that such a crime will never be allowed to happen again. "The original plans detailing the construction of Auschwitz constitute a graphic illustration of the Germans' systematic effort to carry out the Final Solution," said Avner Shalev. The special exhibition presents concrete proof, said Shalev, that the German National Socialists had already at an early stage meticulously planned and prepared the factory-murder of the Jews. On one of the plans, drawn up in November 1941, a cellar is labelled 'corpse cellar', and a staircase is labelled 'chute', for the dead bodies to slide down. Editor in chief Kai Diekmann confirmed that it was BILD's aim from the outset to give the documents to the Jewish people "as a sign of respect" and for them to be exhibited in Yad Vashem. Rabbi Israel Meir Lau, Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv and Chairman of the Yad Vashem advisory board, thanked BILD, "that you have brought these documents here, where they belong, in the central place of remembrance for the millions of victims of the Holocaust". Who is the German government protecting? I have, along with industrious Atlas readers, embarked on a mission to determine who would be sanctioned for such an atrocity. In the process of researching this evil, the close association between the Third Reich and Islamic jihad is frightening. The Muslims were just as guilty as the Nazis, and yet they walked away, and their major role in this awful time in history was expunged from the history books. In an office in Berlin, his activities included: 1. radio propaganda; 2. espionage and fifth column activities in the Middle East; 3. organizing Muslims into military units in Axis-occupied countries and in North Africa and Russia; and 4. establishment of the Arab Legions and the Arab Brigade. These groups were trained by the Nazis and used by them.15 • The Mufti's radio broadcasts were some of the most violent pro-Axis broadcasts ever produced. He had at least six stations, Berlin, Zeissen, Bari, Rome, Tokyo and Athens. He used these radio broadcasts to tell Muslims across the world to commit acts of sabotage and kill the Jews.16 The Mufti developed a "propaganda barrage" in Arabic through leaflet and radio. Tons of paper, beautifully printed with Koranic texts, were distributed. These leaflets were widely distributed to the Arabs of Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco, calling on them to attack the ghettos where the Jews lived.18 In 1943 in the Luftwaffe Hall in Berlin, a meeting was held in which the Mufti was the principal speaker. His words were recorded and rebroadcast the next day. They included: The Treaty of Versailles was a disaster for the Germans as well as for the Arabs. But the Germans know how to get rid of the Jews. That which brings us close to the Germans and sets us in their camp is that up to today, the Germans have never harmed any Muslim, and they are again fighting our common enemy {applause} who persecuted Arabs and Muslims. But most of all, they have definitely solved the Jewish problem. These ties, and especially the last, make our friendship with Germany not a provisional one, dependent on conditions, but a permanent and lasting friendship based on mutual interests.36 • In 1943, the Mufti traveled to Bosnia, where he helped to raise a Bosnian Muslim Waffen-SS Hanjar, who slaughtered 90 percent of the Jews in Bosnia…Other Bosnian Muslim units raised by the Mufti were sent to Croatia and Hungary, where they participated in the killing of Jews.37 November 28, 1941, The Mufti meets with Hitler in Berlin, this was reported by the German News Agency on December 7, 1941, the same day Japan attacked the United States at Pearl Harbor. What started as a trial against Geert Wilders for alleged Islamophobia has nearly turned into its opposite: a historical case about the message of the Quran. The Amsterdam court trying the controversial Dutch politician is now preoccupied with the question of whether this book, sacred to more than a billion believers, can be compared to one of the most vile publications in the history of Western civilization—Hitler's "Mein Kampf." What could possibly go wrong? In his writing and speeches, Mr. Wilders has found these two works to be similar in terms of their anti-Semitism and incitement to hatred, and has thus called for a publishing ban on the Quran similar to the one in place for "Mein Kampf." This is what triggered Mr. Wilders's prosecution for discriminatory and insulting remarks against Muslims and Islam. The Dutch politician, though, denies having insulted Muslims. He insists his focus is on radical Islam and the Quran, which he considers to be not only a religious text but also a political pamphlet encouraging Muslims to discriminate against and, if necessary, kill Jews, Christians, apostates and other unbelievers. That's why Mr. Wilders claims the right to criticize and condemn Islam. Following complaints brought by mostly Muslim and radical leftist activists, Amsterdam's district attorney in 2008 at first found no legal basis for prosecuting Mr. Wilders. Prosecutors were forced to change course only after an activist appeals court last year ordered Mr. Wilders's prosecution—basically condemning the politician before any trial could even begin and before Mr. Wilders had a chance to defend himself. The court's unusual intervention illustrates the Dutch confusion about the conflict between two essential rights: the right to free speech and the right to protection from discrimination.  According to polls, Mr. Wilders's Freedom Party, a libertarian-conservative movement with populist tendencies, is currently the most popular political party in the Netherlands. If elections were held today, Mr. Wilders would be a serious contender for the position of prime minister. Mr. Wilders's detractors are mistaken if they think a conviction would hurt him politically. The trial is a win-win situation for him: If the court rules to restrict Mr. Wilders's right to free speech, many Dutchmen will interpret this as an effort by the politically correct establishment to limit the growing strength of the Freedom Party, which would widen its appeal to many voters. If, on the other hand, the prosecution fails to prove that Mr. Wilders has purposely insulted Muslims because of their religion, Mr. Wilders's views will be seen as vindicated. Again, he will gain politically. More importantly, Mr. Wilders's prosecution may in the end inadvertently create a crisis between the Netherlands and the Islamic world. On trial is not so much Geert Wilders, but the Holy Book of Islam. On Jan. 20, the first day of the case, Mr. Wilders's defense team presented the court with a list of expert witnesses. It is indicative of his strategy. The expert witnesses, a group of internationally renowned academics on the one hand and, on the other, radical Islamists (among them Mohammed Bouyeri, the killer of Theo van Gogh, and the influential Iranian Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi, an outspoken anti-Semite and religious mentor of Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinedjad), are requested to testify about the Quran's message and Mr. Wilders's comparison of the Quran to "Mein Kampf." As Mr. Wilders stated on the first and, so far only, session in court, if his statements about the Quran and "Mein Kampf" are correct, he cannot be convicted for telling the truth. So Mr. Wilders's defense team will concentrate on the extreme and violent paragraphs in the Quran, and compare them to paragraphs in "Mein Kampf." The prosecution did not object to calling the witnesses for the purpose of shedding light on the Quran and "Mein Kampf" and only objected to the high number of witnesses named (17). The court will thus most likely allow most witnesses on the list to testify. Without doubt, there are many anti-Jewish remarks in the Quran. According to some researchers, there may be more of these in the Quran than in "Mein Kampf." So it is quite conceivable that the court will judge that Geert Wilders was within his right to compare the Quran to "Mein Kampf." Anything is possible in this absurd trial. The three judges hearing the case—no doubt decent, modest, postmodern Dutchmen with a minimum knowledge of Islam and its culture and traditions—will now be forced to debate the nature of a religious text, something that should have never been heard in the court of an enlightened society. In front of the judges and television cameras, the ancient founding text of an entire civilization will be criticized and weighed against one of the most inhumane texts written in the 20th century—without any doubt a deep insult to Muslims, radical or not. He was Golda Meir's bodyguard, and she appointed him to track down and bring to justice the Palestinian terrorists who took the Israeli athletes hostage and killed them during the Munich Olympic Games. In a lecture in New York City he shared information that EVERY American needs to know -- but that our government has not yet shared with us. He predicted the London subway bombing on the Bill O'Reilly show on Fox News stating publicly that it would happen within a week. At the time, O'Reilly laughed, and mocked him saying that in a week he wanted him back on the show. Unfortunately, within a week the terrorist attack had occurred.   Juval Aviv gave intelligence (via what he had gathered in Israel and the Middle East ) to the Bush Administration about 9/11, a month before it occurred. His report specifically said they would use planes as bombs and target high profile buildings and monuments. Congress has since hired him as a security consultant.   Now for his future predictions. He predicts the next terrorist attack on the U.S. will occur within the next few months.   Forget hijacking airplanes, because he says terrorists will NEVER try and hijack a plane again as they know the people onboard will never go down quietly again. Aviv believes our airport security is a joke -- that we have been reactionary rather than proactive in developing strategies that are truly effective. For example: 1) Our airport technology is outdated. We look for metal, and the new explosives are made of plastic. 2) He talked about how some idiot tried to light his shoe on fire. Because of that, now everyone has to take off their shoes. A group of idiots tried to bring aboard liquid explosives. Now we can't bring liquids on board. He says he's waiting for some suicidal maniac to pour liquid explosive on his underwear; at which point, security will have us all traveling naked! Every strategy we have is reactionary. 3) We only focus on security when people are heading to the gates. Aviv says that if a terrorist attack targets airports in the future, they will target busy times on the front end of the airport when/where people are checking in. It would be easy for someone to take two suitcases of explosives, walk up to a busy check-in line, ask a person next to them to watch their bags for a minute while they run to the restroom or get a drink, and then detonate the bags BEFORE security even gets involved. In Israel , security checks bags BEFORE people can even ENTER the airport.   Aviv says the next terrorist attack here in America is imminent and will involve suicide bombers and non-suicide bombers in places where large groups of people congregate. (i.e., Disneyland, Las Vegas casinos, big cities (New York, San Francisco, Chicago, etc.) and that it will also include shopping malls, subways in rush hour, train stations, etc., as well as, rural America this time. The interlands ( Wyoming , Montana , etc.). The attack will be characterized by simultaneous detonations around the country (terrorists like big impact), involving at least 5-8 cities, including rural areas. Aviv says terrorists won't need to use suicide bombers in many of the larger cities, because at places like the MGM Grand in Las Vegas , they can simply valet park a car loaded with explosives and walk away.   Aviv says all of the above is well known in intelligence circles, but that our U. S. Government does not want to 'alarm American citizens' with the facts. The world is quickly going to become 'a different place', and issues like 'global warming' and political correctness will become totally irrelevant. On an encouraging note, he says that Americans don't have to be concerned about being nuked. Aviv says the terrorists who want to destroy America will not use sophisticated weapons. They like to use suicide as a front-line approach. It's cheap, it's easy, it's effective; and they have an infinite abundance of young militants more than willing to 'meet their destiny'.   He also says the next level of terrorists, over which America   should be most concerned, will not be coming from abroad.  But will be, instead, 'homegrown', having attended and been educated in our own schools and universities right here in the U.S. He says to look for 'students' who frequently travel back and forth to the  Middle East . These young terrorists will be most dangerous because they will know our language and will fully understand the habits of Americans; but that we Americans won't know/understand a thing about them. Aviv says that, as a people, Americans are unaware and uneducated about the terrorist threats we will inevitably face.  America still has only a handful of Arabic and Farsi speaking people in our intelligence networks, and Aviv says it is critical that we change that fact SOON.   So, what can America do to protect itself? From an intelligence perspective, Aviv says the U.S. needs to stop relying on satellites and technology for intelligence. We need to, instead, follow Israel 's, Ireland 's and England 's hands-on examples of human intelligence, both from an infiltration perspective as well as to pay attention to, and trust 'aware' citizens to help. We need to engage and educate ourselves as citizens; however, our U. S. government continues to treat us, its citizens, 'like babies'. Our government thinks we 'can't handle the truth' and are concerned that we'll panic if we understand the realities of terrorism. Aviv says this is a deadly mistake. Aviv recently created/executed a security test for our Congress, by placing an empty briefcase in five well-traveled spots in five major cities. The results? Not one person called 911 or sought a policeman to check it out. In fact, in Chicago , someone tried to steal the briefcase!   In comparison, Aviv says that citizens of Israel are so well 'trained' that an unattended bag or package would be reported in seconds by citizen(s) who know to publicly shout, 'Unattended Bag!' The area would be quickly & calmly cleared by the citizens themselves.   Unfortunately, America   hasn't been yet 'hurt enough' by terrorism for their government to fully understand the need to educate its citizens or for the government to understand that it's their citizens who are, inevitably, the best first-line of defense against terrorism.   Aviv also was concerned about the high number of children here in America who were in preschool and kindergarten after 9/11, who were 'lost' without parents being able to pick them up, and about our schools that had no plan in place to best care for the students until parents could get there. (In New York City , this was days, in some cases!)   He stresses the importance of having a plan, that's agreed upon within your family, of how to respond in the event of a terrorist emergency. He urges parents to contact their children's schools and demand that the schools too, develop plans of actions, just as they do in Israel . Does your family know what to do if you can't contact one another by phone? Where would you gather in an emergency? He says we should all have a plan that is easy enough for even our youngest children to remember and follow. Aviv says that the U. S. government has in force a plan, that in the event of another terrorist attack, EVERYONE's ability to use cell phones, blackberries, etc., will immediately be cut-off, as this is the preferred communication source used by terrorists and is often the way that their bombs are detonated. How will you communicate with your loved ones in the event you cannot speak to each other? You need to have a plan.   If you understand, and believe what you have just read, then you must feel compelled to send this to every concerned parent, guardian, grandparents, uncles, aunts, whomever. Don't stop there. In addition to sharing this via e-mail, contact and discuss this information with whomever it makes sense to. Make contingency plans with those you care about. Better that you have plans in place, and never have to use them, then to have no plans in place, and find you needed them.   If you choose not to share this, or not to have a plan in place, and nothing ever occurs -- good for you! However, in the event  something does happen, and even more so, if it directly affects your loved ones, then this e-mail will haunt you forever.   Telling yourself after the fact, "I should have sent this to so and so, but deleted it as so much trash from old Bill Jones, plus, I just didn't believe it", will not change anything. You were alerted, had the chance to do something, and instead of erring on the side of caution, you chose to disregard, if nothing else, a sensible, valuable warning.   Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers." Freedom and Friendship will never die as long as we care about each other. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHEILA Sheila and Brian, two of our newest residents, moved in at one of the worst times possible, freezing rain storms but were not deterred. Sheila is a work a holic, she is always on the move either putting up dry wall, cleaning, cooking, organizing just everything. Welcome Sheila and we wish you many many more years of being neighbors. Bud has a new neighbor also.. one of the furry kinds with a big big carbon footprint. Sheetroc is all in now, all taped and ready to paint. The water wagon on the job again, John ran out of drilling pipe and is waiting to get the new pieces mailed out to him and his well drilling machine froze during the past freeze and split the housing which is in the process of being fixed now. Shouldn't be too long before he is back at the drilling rig working on getting water for us from our own well. Thad has his own new project also, he bought some huge garbage bins and has started our own recycle plan, plastic, glass, cans and paper. It is working out pretty good and cutting down on the burning we have to do each day plus may prove to be profitible also. The big meeting is about to happen, remember February 6th. Don't forget all lot owners should be in attendence if at all possible. ( Video will be taken and will be available on DVD for those that cannot make the meeting) UPDATE: Heather and Chris are doing well, still not Mom and Dad, it seems that little bundle of joy doesn't want to come out in this messy old world. Everyone is well and it looks good for Heather and the baby.

We currently have 1200 of 1700 for her trip. I still unemployed since the first message I sent out on Jan 12th.  This is just a reminder if you led by the Holy Spirit/Ruach Kadosh to still want to be involved in helping her, then monies need to be in as soon as possible for the date to have the money is Feb 7th. she is one of 9 students selected based on walk & maturity in the Him. They will be gone a week down to GUATEMALA with LIVING WATER INTERNATIONAL.  She has been on 4 mission trips previous, 3 times to Mexico & once to Belize. She  believes life is in the mission fields. She wants to be obedient to the Father's call on her life. So if the RUACH/SPIRIT is leading you to help it's now as the hour draws near. Funds for Farmers: Upcoming Deadlines EQIP Organic Initiative >>> Sign-up Deadline: March 12, 2010 After a successful program in 2009, the Organic Initiative (OI) under the NRCS EQIP program will continue in 2010. Deadline for signup under the EQIP OI is March 12, 2010.  Instead of uniform nationwide practices and increased payments under the EQIP OI, in 2010 each state will have their own distinct practices with accompanying higher payments when these are incorporated into an organic farming system. Contact your county or state NRCS office in your state to get specific information.  In Wisconsin, the List of Eligible Practices and Payment Schedule, 2010 has higher payments to organic farmers for the following practices (the practice standard number follows the name of the practice): Conservation Cover 327, Conservation Crop Rotation 328, Contour Buffer Strips 332, Cover Crop 340, Critical Area Planting 342, Field Border 386, Filter Strip 393, Pasture and Hayland Planting 512, Pest Management for crops, hay, cranberries and orchards 595, and Riparian Forest Buffer 391. The average higher payment for this practice when part of an organic farm is approximately 20%. The EQIP program is a cost share program to aid farmers addressing conservation issues on their farm and making positive changes. If you applied for the EQIP Organic Initiative in 2009, and did not receive a contract, your previous application may be resubmitted, but under the 2010 payment schedule. Your local or state NRCS conservationist can give you further details. NRCS to Help with Planning to Transition to Organic >>> Sign-up Deadline: February 19, 2010 Organic Agriculture Transition Plans 138, will also be available to farmers in Wisconsin who wish to transition their farm to organic, or add new land to an existing organic farm. The deadline to sign up for this program is February 19, 2010 - the same date the regular EQIP signup closes.  This program helps farmers plan to transition land to organic, with the incorporation of conservation practices as part of this plan.  Payments range from $1040 to $1465. NRCS to pay for High Tunnels for Vegetable Growers In a new initiative this year, high tunnels will be cost shared for vegetable growers. Even if you already have a heated greenhouse or an unheated high tunnel on your farm, you are eligible for up to 2178 square feet of cost share on one high tunnel at $1.86 per square foot. The high tunnel must be located on land with a cropping history; it cannot be placed on lawns. Crops must be grown in the ground, not on benches, hydroponically, or in pots.  The tunnel must be at least 6 feet in height and have a 6 mil greenhouse grade polyethylene plastic covering.  If the producer wishes to have the tunnel remain skinned with plastic through the winter, the cost of having a strong enough high tunnel for this snow load will not be cost shared, these additional costs would be the responsibility of the grower.  The high tunnel system should be designed and managed in a way to improve soil organic matter as well as prevent erosion.  Every farm that applies for funding through NRCS programs must have their farm listed as an agricultural enterprise with their county's Farm Service Agency (FSA), and prove ownership or leasing of land in your county. If you are not currently listed with the FSA, and do not have a farm and tract number, contact them right away, since this needs to be in place before the signup deadlines for either the regular EQIP program, February 19, 2010, or the EQIP Organic Initiative, March 12, 2010.  Growers can apply for this high tunnel initiative under both EQIP programs and see which EQIP program (regular or Organic Initiative) they might rank higher in. Earth Day will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2010! Action Alert! Stop Genetically Engineered (GE) Alfalfa before February 16, 2010. The USDA just released a draft of its Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on Genetically Engineered Alfalfa. In their EIS, the USDA states "there is no evidence that consumers care about GE contamination of organic alfalfa." This is not true. Now is your chance to be heard. To prove you do indeed care. That GE contamination is not acceptable. Tell the USDA to protect organic food from GE contamination, and NOT TO APPROVE Monsanto's GE Alfalfa. Comments are due by February 16, 2010. It's not just alfalfa that's at risk. Alfalfa is fed to dairy cows and other livestock. Organic dairy and meat could be affected, too! You CAN make a difference. Saving With Purpose: Short Term Goals Posted: 19 Jan 2010 01:00 AM PST This is the first post in a series called Saving With Purpose: Living a More Intentional Financial Life. In this series, I plan to highlight a number of specific savings goals my family has identified we would like to achieve over the next few decades. We have all heard of SMART goals. You probably know the acronym by heart…Specific, Measurable, Achievable, etc. Identifying savings goals is no different. As I mentioned last week when first introducing this series, my family has been pretty good at saving money since getting out of debt. However, we find ourselves trying to pile up money for no specific reason, other than we recognize saving money is the smart thing to do. This wasn't enough for me. I want to set very specific savings goals and then track them to completion. When we accomplish the first savings goal, we'll move to the second. When we accomplish that goal, we'll move on to the next, and so on. Think of it as a "savings snowball." Of course, some goals will run concurrently, particularly the big, long-range goals such as retirement and college savings plans for the kids. To kick things off, my wife and I sat down to identify our short-term savings goals. That is, things we hope to accomplish in the next year or two, or have already saved for, but don't want to tap for competing priorities. Short-Term Savings Goals Goal 1: Save $25,000 Cash for Emergencies. Any financial planner will tell you this is the cornerstone of any solid savings plan. After all, rainy days are inevitable. Whether you are covering the costs of a new roof, a new transmission, or covering expenses during a layoff, the emergency fund is a must-have savings goal. Most also agree that 3-6 months of expenses is a good starting place when determining how much one should save. For us, our goal amount is around eight months of expenses – we added two additional months since we are a one-income family. Goal 2: Save $10,000 Cash in an Opportunity Fund. The problem with emergency funds is that they are only supposed to be used in an emergency. Life throws plenty of opportunities, too, and we want to be prepared for them. In our first 12 years of marriage, we had to pass on many opportunities because we were carrying debt and had little savings. We like to think of this fund as our personal line of credit – there to use and replenish as opportunities arise. One real-life example of these types of opportunities is blogging conferences. Previously, the attendance fee, transportation and lodging made attending these types of events difficult. Now, if the right opportunity came along, I could attend such an event, which could lead to making valuable connections for building Frugal Dad. Goal 3: Save $10,000 Cash Towards a Car Replacement Fund. Let's face it; our cars won't last forever. Their demise is inevitable, no matter how well we take care of them. So why not begin planning for their replacement now, rather than turning to banks or auto finance companies. In our case, my truck will likely die first since it is several years older than our family vehicle, and has about 100,000 miles more on the engine. At current prices, I could buy a replacement truck for about $8,000 – $10.000. Accounting for a little inflation, with the hopes that my current truck lasts a few more years, and accounting for the remaining cash value of my current truck, that puts the replacement truck cash need at about $10,000. Goal 4: Save $5,000 for Home Improvement Projects. Our house was built in 2004, so fortunately very little is in need of upgrading. However, there are a few small home improvement projects  we are interested in doing around the exterior of our home, such as installing gutters, paving a patio (or building a deck), and planting more mature trees on the property. We're also considering hardwood or laminate flooring in the kids' rooms as they both suffer from allergies, and carpet seems to hold in the dust and pet dander making their symptoms worse. A few thousand dollars should cover these expenses, but we believe in saving the cash first before upgrading the home, even if other lines of credit are there. I'm happy to report that Goal 1 is accomplished, and we are working on Goal 2 (the Opportunity Fund). We'll save for goals 3 and 4 at the same time, with the hopes that our outside home improvement projects will be funded by late spring or early summer, and our new trees can be planted in the fall. Stay Tuned Next up in the series, we'll take a look at college savings for our kids, our next big savings priority and something we know we are behind on. I've done some preliminary research for the costs of tuition for both kids, and the numbers are staggering. I'll share the specific numbers with you, and our plan for reaching the goal in the next decade (even less time for our oldest – yikes!) just in case they don't land full scholarships.
