Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to theUSA in fewer than five years. If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

Last September, hurricane Ike hit Texas near Houston. As a direct result of the storm, 48 people in Texas died.
the aftermath proved to be deadlier than the storm itself. As many as 64 post-storm deaths occurred in Texas because of factors such as carbon monoxide poisoning and electrocution. More than 1 million Texans were left without power. Municipal water systems were overwhelmed, and clean water was the next to go. Enormous lines formed at FEMA food centers, grocery stores and gas stations - which had no electricity to pump what little gas was left. That first weekend after Ike, some 37,000 Texans were holed up in shelters that ran short of food and water within 24 hours. The next few weeks brought countless scores of injuries from clearing debris.
Mark Vorderbruggen and several of his neighbors in the Houston suburb of Spring got to work cleaning up their neighborhood. The crew had organized before the storm by gathering all the two-way Family Radio Service walkie-talkies they could find and then distributing them among 14 occupied houses. They had already taken a quick inventory of residents with generators, chain saws and first-aid skills (one neighbor was a retired Army medic). The day before Ike hit, Vorderbruggen went door to door with four or five guys from the neighborhood, serving as an impromptu pickup crew, clearing yards of furniture, tools and anything else that might turn into a deadly missile in hurricane-force winds.
Thanks to his preparations, Vorderbruggen's house survived largely intact. But there was still plenty of debris to clean up in the neighborhood. He and his neighbors all pitched in to clean up every yard and sidewalk.
Aftermath of Ike was less like a disaster and more like a barbecue. The area was without power for five days, but the neighbors conserved resources by eating meals together at a different house each night to ensure that no food was spoiled. "We cooked on the grill, and I ran a small light off a battery-powered electric inverter," Vorderbruggen says. "I got to walk around in Hawaiian shirts and swim shorts for nearly a week. Cooking outside, clearing debris. It was actually kind of fun-for me."
Steve Leslie, a 20-year veteran of Washington State-based Olympic Mountain Rescue, has seen countless people get lost or stranded in the woods. He sees longterm wilderness survival as a challenge of maintenance. "Basically it's housekeeping- your chances of survival go way up if you maintain a good shelter, find water and, if you have any food, parcel it out." [Christopher Young, list owner of Practical Survival 3, sees survival as staying out of trouble when possible.]
the difference between life and death often comes down to the simple-yet surprisingly difficult-task of recognizing threats before they overwhelm you, then working through them as discrete challenges.
The people who survive disasters tend to be better prepared and more capable of making smart decisions under pressure. Not everyone is born with these traits, but almost anyone can learn them. Here's how to wire your brain for survival.
Keep Cool in a Crisis The tornado siren sounded at the Little Sioux Scout Ranch in western Iowa just before the power went out on June 11, 2008. Scout Leader Fred Ullrich, "I was looking for lightning and listening for that freight train sound you're supposed to hear with tornadoes, but there was nothing like that," Ullrich says. "But something told me we were in deep trouble. I yelled for the boys to get under the tables." Ullrich was picked up and thrown from the building. Then the 150-mph wind simply blew the Boy Scout shelter apart. "I can only describe my actions in that moment as being totally futile," Ullrich says.
Once the tornado passed, All around him was chaos. Some scouts were trapped by the debris. For a brief moment Ullrich was dazed. Then he went into autopilot rescue mode. "I went to a very businesslike place." He circled what was left of the disintegrated shelter, directing the able-bodied to take care of the injured. And the scouts did just that-applying pressure to wounds, turning T-shirts into bandages and elevating the legs of those who were in shock. Ullrich used a 6-foot iron bar to pry up a wooden board and bricks that had fallen on one boy.
In a disaster roughly 10 percent of people panic, while 80 percent essentially do nothing. Unable to come to terms with what's happening, they freeze. The remaining 10 percent jump into action. Ullrich needed a separate and equally important skill: to get hold of himself and get people organized.
being able to set aside fear is what separates people like Ullrich from others. "Fear is a good thing," Hart says. "You want to have it because it can motivate you to action. But if you become overwhelmed by it, then it's debilitating."
What's worse, research shows that the greater the number of people who are involved in an emergency situation, the less likely it is that anyone will intervene - a phenomenon known as the Bystander Effect. in group situations, there is a diffusion of responsibility; people look for cues from others before deciding how to act. "Just being aware of this tendency and saying 'I am responsible' can make a difference. People who believe that they are responsible for other people's welfare help more."
mental preparedness and responsibility are central to the Boy Scout philosophy. The night before the tornado, Ullrich had put the boys through a first-aid drill. When emergency responders arrived after the tornado, what they saw was devastating-four scouts were dead or mortally wounded. Scores were suffering from broken pelvises, dislocated shoulders, lacerations and punctured lungs. Ullrich and the uninjured scouts were putting their training to work. They had organized an on-the-spot triage center, helping to prepare the most seriously injured for their journey to the hospital.
By teaching his scouts to leap into action, Ullrich skewed the 10-80-10 math of disaster. He saw the drill as part of his responsibility to care for the troop. "The point of it is to get these scouts to be the people who don't sit around when something bad happens," he says, "but to be the type of people who do something."
Beyond First Aid Kits: 5 Unexpected Survival Kit Essentials
1. Beer "Buy a lot of it," says Trey Click, a magazine publisher who rode out last year's Hurricane Ike in Galveston, Texas. "It's one of the only things you can use for money in the aftermath." [Only if you associate with boozers.] Need your neighbor to help you clear trees out of your yard? A case of Bud is a better motivator than a $20 bill when all the stores are boarded up. [Then, you can have a rowdy bunch of drunks with chainsaws in your yard. Does anyone see a safety issue?]
2. Handheld CB Radio Think no one uses CB radios anymore? Think again. These things can be a direct line to emergency crews and tow trucks, exactly the folks you might want to get in touch with after a disaster. [Unless you have some high wattage channel jammers yakking. Then, you need to cut some coax before you can have useful comms.] Plus, they work when cell towers don't. [If you have a power source, and your antenna is standing.] Look for one that also tunes into NOAA weather channels. [Or, get a separate NOAA radio? Hey, how about FRS walkies? Not going to mention those, eh?]
3. Contractor Bags Thick, sturdy 3-mil contractor bags are the multitool of the disaster world. They're tough enough to stuff with sharp debris, they work as an impromptu poncho or water barrier for leaky structures, and you can use them to drag heavy objects. [Good one!]
4. Glow Bracelets When the electricity is out, you may not feel like celebrating, but these party favors can come in handy. "Houses get dark really quickly with no power," says Mark Vorderbruggen, who went five days without electricity after Ike hit Texas. "I used them to mark the location of radios, flashlights, batteries and door handles." [Remember to replace them once a year, as the chemical goes bad.]
1. Evacuation If it becomes necessary to leave your home, there may be little advance notice. Determine ahead of time what to bring, where to go and how to get there. Create a backup plan in case your primary route or destination becomes unworkable. Then, practice: Make sure everyone in the family knows the location of rendezvous sites. Keep at least a half-tank of gas in your car, and keep weather-resistant clothing and sturdy shoes handy.
2. Health When assembling a disaster kit, include both general medical items (bandages, antiseptic, etc.) and up-to-date supplies of prescription medications. Also, keep baby formula available and personal hygiene items such as sanitary napkins and toilet paper in waterproof containers.
3. Documents Keep copies of important paperwork in three places: your grab-and-go bag, a safe-deposit box and with a friend or family member in a different location. Include identification cards, insurance documents, marriage certificates, property deeds, prescriptions and pictures of family members to show to first responders in case anyone gets lost.
4. Communication Keep a card with an updated list of family contact info in your wallet at all times. (Don't rely exclusively on a cellphone's contact list; you may not be able to recharge the phone.[Chris reminds you to pack both home and car chargers for you cell phone, d'uh.]) Make sure every family member carries the number of a point person at least 50 miles away in case local telecommunications fail. This creates a hub-and-spoke system: If family members can't talk to each other, they can coordinate through the third party.
5. Technology keep regular backups [of your computer files] in an out-of-town location or archive to an Internet service such as box.net. Consider maintaining a landline and corded phone [which are more dependable in emergency] Keep a battery- or crank-powered NOAA radio on hand for weather information and news updates. [FRS and CB radio are also good ways to communicate short range, and maybe pick up some local news from real people; not filtered by the media.]
6. Risk Assessment Are you in a Danger Zone? Natural threats vary by region, but no area is immune from all disasters. Hazard maps available on FEMA's Web site break down the frequency of several types of disasters on a state and local level. Take such information into account in your planning. If you live in a flood or earthquake zone, insure your property accordingly.

Celiac Disease May Raise Risk of Dying People with mild form of the digestive disorder have slightly higher death rate, study shows Gee I think it's a little unfair to pass a death sentence on someone who only needs proper diaganosis and diet. (HealthDay News) -- People with milder symptoms of celiac disease face a slightly higher risk of dying than other people, a new study finds.
Cancer and heart disease were the main causes of death in the patients studied, and the risk was higher in people who had had small-intestinal biopsies in childhood, the researchers found.
Celiac disease affects about 1 percent of people in the Western world, the researchers said, and it is triggered by exposure to gluten, a protein found in barley, wheat and rye. It frequently causes diarrhea and weight loss.
According to the study, which appears in the Sept. 16 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, celiac disease is thought to be connected to higher risk of disease, but less is known about "nonspecific small-intestinal inflammation without villous atrophy," a kind abnormality.
Swedish researchers found the risk of death increased by 39 percent in patients with celiac disease and 35 percent with latent celiac disease.
The research "reinforces the importance of celiac disease as a diagnosis that should be sought by physicians. It also suggests that more attention should be given to the lesser degrees of intestinal inflammation and gluten sensitivity," wrote Dr. Peter H. R. Green, of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, in a commentary.

In a stunning initial step toward victory in the battle to make our own health care decisions, citizen push back pushed back really hard. The Public Employees Federation, New York State United Teachers and an attorney representing 4 Albany, NY nurses challenged the NY State order mandating vaccination with all ACIP recommended vaccinations, including seasonal and Swine (H1N1) vaccines for nurses, doctors, aides and non-medical staff members who might be in a patient's room. For now, the vaccinations will remain voluntary.
Natural Solutions Foundation's 'Stop the Shot' litigation also deals with the rights of NY State Health Care Workers, in addition to challenging the legality of the vaccines themselves. The litigation has been filed in the District of Columbia Federal District Court in order to create a stay which has national impact. Additional states, such as Pennsylvania and California, have promulgated mandates similar to those in New York.
The Natural Solutions Foundation's Trustee and lead Counsel, Ralph Fucetola, JD, has been asked to provide an Amicus Curiae ["Friend of the Court" brief - REL] in this case because of our extensive research and involvement with the issues in this case and we are, of course, proud to do so.
Distressingly, ACIP has been discounting or eliminating exemption categories in its recommendations for vaccinations which means that such exemptions, although allowed under the laws of all states for medical reasons and 48 states for other reasons, are increasingly not permitted for ordinary vaccinations and are disallowed for pandemic vaccinations. This is not acceptable to people who believe that, as free men and women, they have the right to make their own decisions about what goes into their bodies.
Our Federal Court Complaint filed as Docket No. 1:09-cv-01924 on October 9th has moved to its next stage: our DC lawyers have filed a Motion for an Injunction to STOP THE SHOT!
The underlying Complaint alleges that the government failed to follow its own rules and applicable legislation in rushing the vaccine approvals in the absence of any of the requisite minimum scientifically sound and appropriate testing for both safety and effectiveness as required by law since 1964.
The new Motion asks the Court to act immediately to stop the swine flu shots.
The government, which owns all the approved vaccines, has begun delivery this week of what they describe as the novel "Swine Flu" 2009-H1N1-A live virus nasal mist vaccine to 90,000 government-approved locations nationwide. Before the Court will have time to act, hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of Americans will take the nasal mist vaccine and, according to the nongovernmental physicians and scientists who oppose these vaccines, will become infectious, possibly triggering the pandemic the government has been predicting. The company which makes this mist vaccine states on their web site that their vaccine causes a "mild" case of the flu alleged to provide immunity to the admittedly mild "swine flu" which has so far failed to become pandemic.
Frankly. we do not know if we will be in time to prevent the pandemic.
The case of Null, Laibow et al. v FDA et al. challenges the legality of the September 15th, 2009 licensing of four vaccines prior to any safety testing for what the government calls a "novel flu virus with pandemic potential." Although the government states that none of the vaccines contain adjuvants, that is manifestly untrue since the injected vaccines contain aluminum, a toxic adjuvant, and Novartis told the Natural Solutions Foundation on that same day that their approved vaccine contains MF59, their proprietary squalene adjuvant. The purpose of an adjuvant is to irritate the immune system into greater production of antibodies than it would otherwise create in response to a smaller antigen dose. Antigens are the most costly part of a vaccine to manufacture. Therefore, despite the enormous dangers, vaccine manufacturers are eager to use adjuvants.
Adjuvants like squalene (also known as MF59, ASO 1, 2, 3 and 4) are highly toxic unapproved drugs in the US. The Novartis (approved) Swine Flu and GSK (awaiting approval) vaccines contain 1 million times more oil in water adjuvant (read, "squalene") than the devastatingly dangerous Vaccine A which caused the profound illness and death of so many previously healthy service men and women.

When Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack spoke at the Community Food Security Coalition conference in Des Moines on Tuesday, one of the things he spoke about was the sense of community one gets from living in a small town. An example he used was the phenomenon of holding a fundraiser such as a spaghetti feed for someone who gets sick and has high medical bills to pay.
It's true, in some communities this is a regular occurrrence. In the year I've lived in Lyons, I can think of several such events both here and in neighboring communities. One was for a newborn with a large number of birth defects, another was for a man with cancer. While it is a good example of how people come together in a crisis, it is the blaring evidence of how broken our rural health care system is. If we had affordable, accessible, and equitable health care in rural areas, no one would have to ask their community to hold a fundraiser so they could pay for medical treatments.
Unfortunately, this might become an even more common occurrence - there is evidence to suggest that mortality is more common rural America compared to urban areas. According to the Economic Research Service, the rate of death has been decreasing for both urban and rural residents, but around 1989 the rate for rural areas decreased less than urban areas, and the trend has continued since then.
The most startling thing is that no one can put a finger on exactly why:
Nobody has determined why the difference in mortality rates is widening. "A possible explanation for the emergence of the nonmetropolitan mortality penalty is based on the observation that access to health care is the most pervasive health disparity in the nonmetropolitan United States," Cosby wrote in 2008. "If healthcare is becoming significantly more effective in prolonging life, then limited access to healthcare is becoming profoundly harmful to the nonmetropolitan US population, hence, the nonmetropolitan mortality penalty."

One can only hold dear the small group of six or seven pr0-Israel students set upon by Muslim hordes. Thursday afternoon saw a contained riot at the University of Chicago's Mandel hall during a speech from former Israel Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Upon arrival we were greeted by vociferous protesters screaming "No Justice No Peace" and epithets of Israelis as child murderers, backed up with "peace" protestors holding signs of swastikas.
Inside the event was equally disparaging, as Mr. Olmert was interrupted by the worst profanity imaginable and screams of bloody murder from anti-Israel activists inside the event nearly every 2 or 3 minutes. At one point, an exasperated, albeit good humored Olmert requested, "how about you give me 5 minutes to speak, and then I'll give you one minute of uninterrupted shouting". In total around 25-30 of these riotous "protestors" were eventually dragged out by the police. One was even arrested for assaulting and officer. It was extremely evident that these students,American Muslims for Palestine and CAIR members, had no intention of academic discourse or actually listening to anything Mr. Olmert had to say. In fact, in the days leading up to the event a plethora of emails were circulated calling on the university to cancel the event. When that wasn't realized there was an organized effort to disrupt it, and effectively shut down free speech at the University of Chicago.
According to an article in the Chicago Tribune, a Loyola student and AMP activist said that she didn't "mind listening to what he has to say, but if all he has to say is that we're wicked people, I refuse to listen to that." In reality, the only references to Palestinian civilians Mr. Olmert made were that the vast majority of the Palestinian population is tired of war, and desperately wants peace. He reiterated that it is the radicals in power like Hamas in Gaza who are holding their own people hostage. In fact, Mr. Olmert outlined quite extensively how Hamas targets Palestinian civilians who actively seek peace with Israel. Mr. Olmert also outlined how during his term as Prime Minister he was castigated repeatedly by Mahmoud Abass for not going after Hamas strongly enough during their takeover of Gaza in 2006, where Hamas members tortured and murdered in cold blood moderate Fatah activists, and even, as Mr. Olmert described, "threw babies out the window of the hospital who belonged to Fatah parents".
All in all, however, the even t was a success in spite of the numerous attempts to take it hostage. The vast majority of people in attendance were there for a serious academic discussion, and openly challenged Mr. Olmert from both the political Right and Left through note cards read during the Q and A.
Say what you will of Prime Minister Olmert's politics and even his legal troubles. The fact remains that he deserves a fair account to plead his case, not a mob trial as many of these "protesters" tried to condemn him to. This is a matter that should strike the heart of academia. How is it appropriate to attempt to shut down the free speech of an invited guest of the university? In fact, when the tables were turned last February when the university hosted an "expert panel" made up of John Mearsheimer, Norman Finkelstein, and Ali Abunimah to discuss Operation Cast Lead, the supporters of Israel in the room meticulously listened to every bigoted word the three "experts" had to say, and then appropriately challenged them on their beliefs. This is the proper tradition of academia; dialogue.
At the conclusion of this event, I couldn't help but reflect on what a mirror image this was of the current global stage. Israel, through the Goldstone report, and Mr. Olmert, through the actions of obscene rioters, are being found guilty before the trial even begins. It is a shame that these individuals have no tolerance for speech outside of their own diminutive circle.

Geert Wilders is coming to the United States next week: to New York's Columbia University and Temple University. Atlas will be there. But once again, Muslim activists are trying to censor Wilders and ban him. Once again Muslims in America are attacking our unalienable rights. Once again Islamic jihad is assaulting and attempting to overthrow the tenets of our Constitution and Declaration of Independence in a stealth jihad.

The Temple Muslim Students Association is attempting to shut down the scheduled appearance of Geert Wilders on October 20. As part of its Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week, and its campaign to Stop the Campus War Against Israel and the Jews, the David Horowitz Freedom Center is sponsoring appearances by Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders at Temple and Columbia universities (October 20 and 21). The Muslim Students Association has issued a statement condemning the event and calling on the Temple Administration to close it down. The MSA statement can be found at the end of this post. David Horowitz Freedom Center Response to the Muslim Students Association
The Temple Muslim Students Association has issued a call to the Temple University administration to censor the forthcoming campus appearance of Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders on the 20th of October, which is sponsored by the David Horowitz Freedom Center. The Temple administration should reject this attack on the First Amendment rights of all members of the Temple community.
It is not surprising that the Muslim Students Association would seek to shut down the free speech of Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders who has been an outspoken critic of Islamic terrorists and Islamic attacks on Jews and other religions. Assaults on the First Amendment and efforts to censor critics of radical Islam are, in fact, typical of the tactics used by the Muslim Students Association, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim American Society, all groups which support the jihad against the west and are part of the network created by the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the parent organization of the terrorist groups al-Qaeda and Hamas. The faculty advisor for Temple MSA is presently a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.
It is the height of hypocrisy for the Muslim Students Association to accuse Geert Wilders of spreading hate or anyone of being a hate group. Chapters of MSA at UC Irvine and Ohio State have raised money for the terrorist group Hamas whose goal — as stated in its official charter — is the destruction of the Jewish state and the extermination of the Jews. Speakers sponsored by the MSA have called for the execution of homosexuals, war against the United States and the destruction of the Jewish state and the extermination of the Jews. Every year, on the day commemorating the birth of the Jewish state, the MSA sponsors nationwide campus protests against the existence of the Jewish state calling its creation the "nakba" – the catastrophe. This is an act of genocidal hate.
Temple MSA refers to the fact that security will be necessary at the event as proof that Geert Wilders is dangerous. This is the perfect Orwellian mindset of supporters of the jihad. The threat to the Wilders event making security measures necessary comes from Muslim radicals who have already assassinated two prominent Dutch critics of Islamic terrorism – Pym Fortun and Theo Van Gogh (who not incidentally both happened to be gay).
In point of fact Wilders has not been tried by any Dutch court, and was recently exonerated by a British court which declared the ban on his entry illegal.
The Temple community should reject the call by the MSA to censor free speech on the Temple campus, and should recognize it for what it is – an assault on the right of all Americans to have a democracy that is inclusive, tolerant and respectful of the rights of others.

Statement from the Muslim Students Association on Geert Wilder's visit
The Temple University Muslim Students Association (MSA), one of the largest, most active and socially conscious student organizations on Temple's campus, is issuing this public statement of protest concerning the invitation of Geert Wilders to address the Temple community on October 20, 2009. Geert Wilders is a far-right Dutch MP who is infamous for his anti-Islamic rhetoric and extreme hatred towards Muslims. A person who has been tried in the Netherlands Supreme Court for his hate speech concerning Islam, banned from the United Kingdom due to the threat he poses to community harmony, and is concurrently being charged for violating anti-hate laws in the European Union, should not be allowed to address the Temple community.
Temple MSA speaks for the many Muslims and socially conscious students and faculty on campus when we say that the presence of Geert Wilders on our campus is a breech of Temple University's pledge to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all students and faculty on campus. The Muslim population at Temple feels attacked, threatened, and ultimately unsafe that Mr. Wilders has been invited to voice his hate-driven opinions. The fact alone that backpacks are prohibited for entry to this event reinforces our argument that this creates an unsafe atmosphere where prejudiced, racist and vehemently hateful words will be disguised under the veil of academia.
Temple MSA deplores the decision made by Temple College Republicans, The David Horowitz Freedom Center, Temple University Purpose, Temple Student Activities, and Temple University as an institution of higher learning, for welcoming Geert Wilders when so many have found his speech to be repugnant to society as a whole.
We condemn Temple University for being the first university in the United States to allow Mr. Wilders to address their population and hope that the administration realizes the reputation and ideologies they are fostering not only to the Temple community, but to the world. The decision to allow Mr. Wilders to share his viewpoints is a danger not only for the public safety of Muslims and the honor of the core principles of Islam, but also for academic integrity and objectivity on campus.
We strongly urge that his invitation be rescinded immediately in order to foster appreciation of free speech that is not based on hatred and discrimination.

It was feared that his outspoken views on Islam could spark religious violence, but this was rejected by the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal on Tuesday.
Lord Pearson, who invited the leader of the Dutch Freedom Party to the UK, said his arrival was 'a celebration of the victory of freedom of speech over those who would prevent it in this country, particularly the Islamists, the violent Jihadists who are on the march across the world and in the UK.'
Mr Wilders denied responsibility for the publicity which has greeted his visit.

JERUSALEM – U.S. officials in recent days expressed to the Palestinian Authority that President Obama's administration is "disgusted" with Israel, a top aide to PA President Mahmoud Abbas told WND in an interview.
Nimr Hamad said the White House was disgusted that Israel is refusing to halt all settlement activity as a precondition for re-starting talks with the PA over the creation of a Palestinian state. "Settlement activity" refers to Jewish construction in the West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem.
Hamad repeated that the term "disgusted" was used more than once in recent meetings with U.S. envoys to describe the administration's attitude toward Israel. Hamad did not name the U.S. envoys using the terminology.
George Mitchell, Obama's envoy for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, just this week wrapped up a series of meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders over re-starting talks.
Senior PA sources told WND yesterday the Obama administration urged them to begin publicly pressuring Israel, starting in March, to immediately withdraw from key areas in the West Bank and peripheral eastern Jerusalem sections in which the Palestinians currently maintain administrative control.
The sources specified that as a confidence-building measure toward the PA, Israel will be asked by the Obama administration to hand over security control to territories designated in the 1993 Oslo Accords as Area B – referring to cities administered by the PA but largely controlled by Israeli security. The specific section of the Oslo Accords regarding control of Area B was finalized in 1995.
Separately, a top PA source, speaking on condition his name be withheld, told WND two weeks ago the Obama administration largely has adopted the positions of the PA to create a Palestinian state within two years based on the 1967 borders, meaning Israel would retreat from most of the West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem.
I am sure they will resurrect themselves under a different moniker with different figureheads, like ACORN is doing but we know who and what they are and we will be vigilant.
In "CAIR's inner workings exposed" in WorldNetDaily today, Daniel Pipes discusses several crucial aspects of the new revelations coming out now about CAIR, courtesy the explosive new book Muslim Mafia.
Written by P. David Gaubatz and Paul Sperry, the investigation is based largely on the undercover work of Gaubatz's son Chris, who spent six months as an intern at CAIR's D.C. headquarters in 2008. In that capacity, he acquired 12,000 pages of documentation and took 300 hours of video.
Chris Gaubatz's information reveals much that the secretive CAIR wants hidden, including its strategy, finances, membership and internal disputes, thereby exposing its shady and possibly illegal methods. As the book contains too much new information to summarize in small compass, I shall focus here on one dimension - the organization's inner workings, where the data show that CAIR's claims amount to crude deceptions.
Claim 1: According to Ibrahim Hooper, the organization's communications director, "CAIR has some 50,000 members." Fact: An internal memo prepared in June 2007 for a staff meeting reports that the organization had precisely 5,133 members, about one-tenth Hooper's exaggerated number.
Claim 2: CAIR is a "grass-roots organization" that depends financially on its members. Fact: According to an internal 2002 board meeting report, the organization received $33,000 in dues and $1,071,000 in donations. In other words, under 3 percent of its income derives from membership dues.
Claim 3: CAIR receives "no support from any overseas group or government." Fact: Gaubatz and Sperry report that 60 percent of CAIR's income derives from two dozen donors, most of whom live outside the United States. Specifically: $978,000 from the ruler of Dubai in 2002 in exchange for controlling interest in its headquarters property on New Jersey Avenue, a $500,000 gift from Saudi prince al-Waleed bin Talal and $112,000 in 2007 from Saudi prince Abdullah bin Mosa'ad, at least $300,000 from the Saudi-based Organization of the Islamic Conference, $250,000 from the Islamic Development Bank, and at least $17,000 from the American office of the Saudi-based International Islamic Relief Organization.

Petroleum is a major part of America's energy picture. Shall we get it here or abroad?
Given that we're spending billions of stimulus dollars to rebuild our highways, it makes sense to think about what we'll be driving on them. For years to come, most of what we drive will be powered, at least in part, by diesel fuel or gasoline. To fuel that driving, we need access to oil. The less use we make of our own reserves, the more we will have to import, which leads to a number of harmful consequences. That means we need to drill here and drill now.
We rely on petroleum for much more than just powering our vehicles: It is essential in everything from jet fuel to petrochemicals, plastics to fertilizers, pesticides to pharmaceuticals. According to the Energy Information Administration, our total domestic petroleum consumption last year was 19.5 million barrels per day (bpd). Motor gasoline and diesel fuel accounted for less than 13 million bpd of that. Meanwhile, we produced only 4.95 million bpd of domestic crude. In other words, even if we ran all our vehicles on something else (which won't happen anytime soon), we would still have to depend on imported oil. And we'll continue that dependence until we develop our own oil resources to their fullest extent.

Building an energy-independent America will mean a real economic stimulus. It will mean American jobs that can never be shipped overseas. Think about how much of our trade deficit is fueled by the oil we import — sometimes as much as half of the total. Through this massive transfer of wealth, we lose hundreds of billions of dollars a year that could be invested in our economy. Instead it goes to foreign countries, including some repressive regimes that use it to fund activities that threaten our security.
Reliance on foreign sources of energy weakens America. When a riot breaks out in an OPEC nation, or a developing country talks about nationalizing its oil industry, or a petro-dictator threatens to cut off exports, the probability is great that the price of oil will shoot up. Even in friendly nations, business and financial decisions made for local reasons can destabilize America's energy market, since the price we pay for foreign oil is subject to rising and falling exchange rates. Decreasing our dependence on foreign sources of energy will reduce the impact of world events on our economy.
In the end, energy independence is not just about the environment or the economy. It's about freedom and confidence. It's about building a more secure and peaceful America, an America in which our energy needs will not be subject to the whims of nature, currency speculators, or madmen in possession of vast oil reserves.
The American people don't want it. They don't want Obamacare, they don't want foreign oil, they don't want indoctrination in the schools, they don't want shariah, they don't want America dismantled, they don't want American hegemony destroyed, they don't want international law, they don't want to abandon Israel, they do not want their freedoms destroyed, they do not want free speech curbed, they don't want Obama.

Thank you, Mr. President.
I am the former commander of the British forces in Afghanistan. I served with NATO and the United Nations; commanded troops in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Macedonia; and participated in the Gulf War. I spent considerable time in Iraq since the 2003 invasion, and worked on international terrorism for the UK Government's Joint Intelligence Committee.
Mr. President, based on my knowledge and experience, I can say this: During Operation Cast Lead, the Israeli Defence Forces did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare.
Israel did so while facing an enemy that deliberately positioned its military capability behind the human shield of the civilian population.
Hamas, like Hizballah, are expert at driving the media agenda. Both will always have people ready to give interviews condemning Israeli forces for war crimes. They are adept at staging and distorting incidents.
The IDF faces a challenge that we British do not have to face to the same extent. It is the automatic, Pavlovian presumption by many in the international media, and international human rights groups, that the IDF are in the wrong, that they are abusing human rights.
The truth is that the IDF took extraordinary measures to give Gaza civilians notice of targeted areas, dropping over 2 million leaflets, and making over 100,000 phone calls. Many missions that could have taken out Hamas military capability were aborted to prevent civilian casualties. During the conflict, the IDF allowed huge amounts of humanitarian aid into Gaza. To deliver aid virtually into your enemy's hands is, to the military tactician, normally quite unthinkable. But the IDF took on those risks.
Despite all of this, of course innocent civilians were killed. War is chaos and full of mistakes. There have been mistakes by the British, American and other forces in Afghanistan and in Iraq, many of which can be put down to human error. But mistakes are not war crimes.
More than anything, the civilian casualties were a consequence of Hamas' way of fighting. Hamas deliberately tried to sacrifice their own civilians.
Mr. President, Israel had no choice apart from defending its people, to stop Hamas from attacking them with rockets.
And I say this again: the IDF did more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare.

I've been on the road organizing in Wisconsin and Minnesota for the past 10 days, and I come back to find that the health insurance industry has released several of self-serving reports "proving" that if health reform passes, individual premiums will skyrocket.
As if they're not already out of control.
This immediately makes me think of a similar situation we faced in the Farm Bill in 2008. There are some who argue that commodity subsidies paid to farmers by the government should be based on the cost a farmer pays to produce the crop plus a reasonable rate of payment for their work. In theory, I am behind this 100%.
However, one of the major production costs these days is seed. Monsanto sells 90% of the genetically engineered seeds that farmers plant, so there is little to stop them from raising the price of their seeds as much as they want, whenever they like. Which they've done. If government subsidies are based the cost of production, which is based in part on the cost of seed and the chemicals that must be used with that seed, any increase in government subsidies due to the increased cost of production goes directly into the pockets of Monsanto and will not really help farmers.
The health insurance market is even more harmful to consumers because since 1945, health insurance providers have enjoyed an exemption from anti-trust laws. Meaning that unlike Monsanto, the law doesn't require a competitive marketplace. The only other entity that shares this exemption is Major League Baseball.
Without competition and strict cost controls, health insurance providers would be able to raise their premium prices at will. Government subsidies are meant to help low and moderate income people pay their premiums, but it stands to reason that much of this subsidy will go towards raising the profits of health insurance providers.
Many of the proposals currently being considered include cost control measures. Some are better than others, and the ones that control costs best are being heavily fought by insurance companies.
But the best cost control is a healthy, competitive marketplace.
The Department of Justice has not done a good job at breaking up the near-monopoly that Monsanto holds on seeds, so I don't trust them to break up the well-established and currently legal monopolies that the health insurance industry enjoys. But clearly the exemption from anti-trust laws needs to be repealed.
All this serves to convince me even more that without a public health insurance option to provide immediate and fierce competition to private health insurance, this reform will not be as successful as it could be in providing affordable access to health insurance for rural communities.

Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., received a fax Tuesday from CAIR's in-house legal counsel, alleging the authors of the new book, set for release today, had engaged in "criminal actions" and warning that a report already had been filed with law enforcement authorities.
The faxed letter from CAIR's Nadhira al-Khalili noted the Washington-based group had been forewarned of the press conference Myrick held with fellow members of the House anti-terror caucus leadership, Reps. The combination of H1N1 swine flu and antibiotic-resistant staph bacteria could lead to a deadly form of pneumonia that kills half the people it infects within three days, according to a study published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases.
Researchers analyzed two patients who had experienced bacterial pneumonia that led to blood poisoning, concluding that the culprit was community acquired Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA), the form of MRSA that occurs outside of health care settings like hospitals and nursing homes.
"The threat from CA-MRSA in the USA is very serious concern, especially if there is a flu epidemic as this could trigger a large number of cases of necrotizing pneumonia, which has a mortality rate of more than 50 percent in 72 hours," said Richard James, of the University of Nottingham.
MRSA is already a highly lethal bacterium, because its resistance to first-line antibiotics makes it more likely to cause complications such as blood or organ infections, boils or even skin necrosis. The bacterium kills more people each year in the United States than AIDS.
CA-MRSA cases are sharply on the rise, with more and more cases being reported in settings gyms, schools and prisons.
"The concern is that this may be the start of an exponential increase as we saw with hospital MRSA infections in the 1990s," James said. "It took the UK 13 years to get to grips with hospital-acquired MRSA infections; we are not equipped to deal with large numbers of CA-MRSA infections in the community."
CA-MRSA appears to be particularly likely to cause pneumonia when it infects people who are recovering from a flu infection.
"Bacterial pneumonia following influenza can be very serious and in some cases fatal," said MRSA expert Mark Enright, of Imperial College London. "CA-MRSA pneumonia is particularly dangerous due to the rapid, aggressive nature of the infection and the difficulty in providing effective chemotherapy. The emergence of pandemic influenza and increased prevalence of CA-MRSA in many countries may cause increased morbidity and mortality in infected individuals."
Michael’s Footnote: This is of course true. While we advocate taking the New Silver Solution as a preventative against all kinds of bacterial infections, Swine-Flu itself, is a virus. The reason why we advocate use of the solution against H1N1 is because of the secondary infections which it can cause. It is the secondary infections that cause the majority of deaths, rather than the Swine-Flu itself. In reality, this is no different to the misleading information given to many relatives about the causation of death in many hospitals. It is never the MRSA that killed them; it was the secondary infection of pneumonia, etc: To clear up the MRSA, they had given antibiotics and that had reduced immune system function required to combat infection. That, combined with an operation recovery which the immune system was already trying to cope with, overloads the system and leaves the patient open to simple infections that now become life-threatening. The patient now has the same outlook as someone suffering from AIDS. No defense.
In October, 2008, an investigation by KOMO-TV in Seattle, in partnership with Fisher Broadcasting stations across the region, found the super bug, Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA), in 3 packages of ground pork bought at grocery stores in California, Oregon and Idaho. They purchased a total of 97 packages of ground pork and pork cutlets and sent them to a USDA certified lab in Seattle for testing. This investigation was undertaken after one local young man died of MRSA pneumonia and another lost a leg to MRSA. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has resisted testing pork for MRSA according to KOMO. Although the findings are ominous there is no way to know if these 2 young men contracted MRSA from raw pork. This multi-drug resistant bacterium already kills more people in the US than AIDS. MRSA was once a problem only in institutions such as hospitals and nursing homes, but it is now increasingly diagnosed as "community acquired" meaning the patient was infected out in the community, not in an institution. MRSA is a multi-drug resistant superbug. Infections are extremely difficult to eradicate and MRSA pneumonia and sepsis have close to a 50% fatality rate.
"It all starts with just one bacterium which you cannot see with your naked eyes," said Dr. Mansour Samadpour, an expert bacterial microbiologist with IEH Laboratories where the testing was conducted. The USDA refuses to conduct testing although pigs are known to carry MRSA and a particularly virulent strain was discovered in pigs during a study conducted by the University of Iowa. "MRSA is a very different kind of bacteria," said Dr. Rebecca Goldburg, a biologist with Keep Antibiotics Working. "As far as I’m concerned, the USDA and FDA are kind of asleep at the wheel on this one."
Canada and several European countries already test for MRSA in pork in grocery stores. KOMO investigators contacted the USDA with their findings and were informed again that there are no plans for testing. Both the Centers for Disease Control and the Food and Drug Administration were also contacted with the results. The FDA says they have started a small pilot study of raw meat in Washington, D.C., but they don’t have any results yet and don’t know when the study will be finished. This is something that can be screened for to keep the public protected. Is this not the purpose of the USDA, CDC and the FDA?
The National Pork Board just began testing pork in retail markets. Their study won’t be finished until around April 2009, (nothing heard yet and it is now September) but their preliminary results are similar to KOMO`s: about a three percent positive rate for MRSA. The Pork Board said MRSA is a priority, but they don’t know if it’s a risk to you. Although all these studies have indicated MRSA in the pork, the tests are so sensitive that there is no way of quantifying just how contaminated the meat is, whether it is teeming with MRSA or just has a few. However, remember, it just takes one to cause an infection.
Although most people believe that cooking meat well eliminates any chance of infection, this is untrue for MRSA because it can cause skin infections, unlike E-coli or salmonella. A person can become colonized or infected simply by touching an object contaminated with MRSA. Touching your nose or having an abrasion on your hands while preparing raw pork could potentially lead to colonization or outright infection. Colonization means the bacterium is present, but not causing any problems. Colonization of the nose and skin greatly increases your risk of an actual MRSA infection. MRSA infections range from hard to heal boils to life threatening pneumonia, sepsis (bacteria in the blood) and joint infections.
Canada has also reported contamination of ground pork and pork chops across the country. Just under 10% of ground pork and pork chops tested positive for MRSA, while there was no contamination of pork roasts. Canada began researching contamination of pork with MRSA after discovering MRSA in pigs in Ontario. Dr. Scott Weese, a veterinarian based at the OntarioVeterinaryCollege in Guelph, is investigating the cause of the dramatic increase in community acquired MRSA in Canada. He stated: "My main concern is: if there’s MRSA on the surface of a pork chop and someone’s handling it and then they touch their nose, could they transmit it from the pork chop to their nose?" Although the investigators found nearly 10% of pork contaminated, he says that it is too soon to draw conclusions as to its role in the increase in community MRSA infections.
The Netherlands found MRSA in raw chicken in 2005 so the problem may not be limited to pork. Should you choose to continue to purchase pork, especially ground pork, make sure you use all safe food-handling practices such as defrosting in the refrigerator, not leaving raw meat at room temperature and washing your hands well with hot soapy water after handling. Besides the usual precautions, do not handle raw pork at all if you have cuts or abrasions on your hands. Always wear gloves when handling raw pork as tiny abrasions, especially around fingernails often go unnoticed. Buy range-fed meat from local farmers and avoid grocery store meat whenever possible.
Michael’s Footnote: I love pork! I love bacon! But before cooking it these days, I soak the raw pork in water, infused with New Silver Solution. Just a 5 minute soak is enough to kill all the MRSA bacterium that may be present and makes handling the raw meat perfectly safe. I also spray my hands with the solution before opening the package. I do the same with raw chicken and all other raw meat products.

Let’s face facts; there has been a vast increase in cases of MRSA over the last few years. Especially CAMRSA which is the community acquired variety of MRSA. Reports have indicated that this pathogen can now be found in soil, plants, bathing water along certain coasts and now, even in the food that we eat and handle. Pets are getting infected and colonized and even visitors to hospitals have to be very cautious about hygiene while visiting.
I stated years ago, that MRSA would become one of the most deadly pathogens on the planet within a few years. The evolution of this bacteria has already placed it ahead of modern science and antibiotics. The inherent ignorance of how to treat this bacteria, because of greed, is leading America and a lot of other nations, into a fight that they may not win. Of course people have vested interests, but is that a reason to put people’s lives at risk?
What is the point in retailing contaminated meat, discharging sewage and other effluents near bathing areas, training doctors to believe that only antibiotics can kill MRSA safely?
It is only a matter of time before people stop buying meat products, stop bathing in coastal resorts and are too afraid to visit their doctor or hospital. This is already starting… People are already more afraid of contracting MRSA in hospital, than the operation they have scheduled. People are starting to think twice about purchasing meat products. Many Mothers won’t let their kids swim at the beach…Not enough yet to alert the media, but it’s coming!
Many people are now looking for alternative medicines, rather than risk taking antibiotics. I have treated many people very successfully over the past 4 years and many of them have parted with thousands of dollars, only to become more sick and depressed.

In Ireland there is a mental institution that every year picks two of it’s most reformed patients and questions them. If they get the questions right they are free to leave. This year the two lucky gents were Patty and Mike. They were called down to the office and left there by the orderly. They were told to wait as the doctor got their files. The doctor came out and motioned for Patty to come in for his questioning. When Patty came into the office he was instructed to sit in the seat across from the doctor.
"Patty you know the tradition of this institution so I imagine you know why you are here. You will be asked two questions, and if you get them right, you will be free to go. Do you understand all that you have been told?" said the doctor with a rather sly grin.
Patty nodded and the doctor began to question him. The first question was this. "Patty if I was to poke out one of your eyes what would happen?"
"I would be half blind of course," Patty answered without much thought.
"What would happen if I poked out the other eye?"
"I would be completely blind," said Patty knowing that he had just gotten his freedom. The doctor then sent him outside while he drew up the paperwork and accessed Mike’s files.
When Patty got into the waiting room however, he told Mike what the questions would be and what the correct answers were.
The doctor calls in Mike and he followed the same procedure that he had with Patty. "Mike the first question is what would happen if I cut off your ear?"

"I would be completely blind," he answered with a smile as if he knew he had passed.
But then the doctor asked him what his reasoning was, and he said flatly, "Me hat would fall down over me eyes."
